The local dealer sent this out today. True or just boosting sales?

i would not recommend anyone a repo for a vehicle purchase unless it's under 3,000 miles, and still a killer deal. like $10,000 on a car that's normally $30,000.

and if it's a toyota dealer, their newest-model-year-used inventory typically trends really close to or above brand new prices most times because factory incentives don't apply to used inventory...

i know when i was last looking at tacoma's, the same truck factory fresh was roughly $5k less before accounting for financing percentage, than the same year 'used' truck, regardless of mileage.

toyota's typically don't trend downwards in price until at least 3-4 years old.

The news about the uptick in vehicle repossession's has been floating around for the last couple of years. Also, if you follow the news inflation and unemployment are expected to increase through the end of 2027. Make your own financial decisions and don't play into the fear mongering.

Interesting to me that a dealer would resell their repos. Last time I worked in the auto business we sent all repos to auction. No surprises with customers showing up with keys or demanding their vehicle back that way. I also found it interesting that all of the certified pre-owned vehicles were bought as lease returns at auction from out of state dealers nearby. We'd detail em, change the oil, sticker em and find another arse er um customer for the drivers seat. :burnrubber:

Look, it's this simple: Dealers never lie or manipulate the narative. Their only concern is your welfare and well being, never question anything they say they are only looking out for you.

Same spot. Paid off my 2021 about 5 months early. Oh what a feeling.
Whittling down my house mortgage to under 100k in the next few months.
Technically I could sell off a 401k and pay off the house but my very ancient father is on the way out and
I'd rather use tax-free inheritance money for that.

Current credit-card debt is 0.00, credit score is 867... I keep a clean balance sheet.

My 2021 only has like 25,000 miles on it. I figure my son will inherit a nice truck when I mingle with the stars,
he's banking on an early demise and I wouldn't bet against him on that one.

I have no idea how repos are processed, none. I’m just going by what a friend/salesman that works at a dealership told me. And not surprised repos are up when folks by a $70-$80 vehicle and then have to spend $200 at the grocery store 2 or 3 times a month.

Nothing a dealer says is honest. They absorbed the tariff cost by not negotiating the off msrp or the $3500 in add ons that cost them $10 to do.

At 51 I feel the same. My 2020 was paid off early one a 4 year loan last September. I have very little credit card debt which is mostly paid in full each month. I have a credit score over 800 also. My mortgage is now at around $32,000. I'm working to fix up some stuff on the house paying cash and doing work myself now. I plan to sell it and roll the equity in to a forever home in a few years. Right now mortgage rates are a bit high and not many properties are available to buy so it's a good time to wait it out. I do have some, what I think are small investnemts too. Who knows maybe an off grid cabin in the woods somewhere in eastern Kentucky or West Virgina is for me, I'm liking the thought of it more every year.

I feel like the quility of socioty, the work work and life in general is in decline. I work in Technology and see how things like AI that we use to save time are not always making things better. On example is the job search tools and how emplpyers use it, lot of applicants get filtered out that might not if human eyes were reading them.

I know a guy who was thru two personal bankruptcies and within a short period of time was able to get loans for a house, vehicles, tractors, zero turns. He now has filed for his third time...

Today's the 1st all the sales must be over. The fees and taxes have probably gone up as well.

I'm also waiting on those June sales numbers. Why's it take more than a day?
