New Falken tires kind of old, worth taking action?

Hey all – 7/1/25 I had a new set of Falken AT4W installed at Discount Tire. When I got home, I see the DOT date code is 3624, which puts the manufacture date around 9/1/24. So call it 10 months old.

According to Falken’s warranty linked here, they cover the tire for 65K miles or 6 years from the production date. So right out of the gate I’ve lost 10 months or ~14% of my of warranty on my brand new tires.

My previous set of tires, some BFG's, were about 2 months old at time of install.

Worth complaining about, or am I overreacting?

    Thanks.

5 years from now the compound of the tire will be so aged that it will be time for new tires. Regardless of mileage/tread depth.

If you don't care for that perspective, have a pleasant conversation with the store manager. If he promises anything as remedy, get it in writing.

Because in 5 years he won't be at that store. Or the store could be gone. Think of it this way. What were you doing in 2020? And what will you be doing in 2030?

Yea. 5 years can make huge changes.

True. I got 5 years / 55K on my E-load KO2's, but that was with a ton of driving across the deserts of the southwest, which I don't anticipate doing much of now.

This would be a non-issue if they indexed the warranty from date of purchase, since shipping time from factory to store is not within the customer's control.
