I am going to look at a set of OEM wheels and tires this Sunday which allegedly have the TPMS in them. How do I get the truck to verify and recognize them? The TPMS would be the factory Toyota ones so should the truck automatically recognize them or do I need a special tool?

The owners manual will tell you how to program additional sets TPMS sensors.

For me it wasent a know right away thing. It took my truck over 50 miles and a few key cycles before it recognized the 2nd set of TPMS's and started displaying values.

Looks like I can do it through the gauge cluster without specialty tools which is great, I will try and register the ID codes as listed on Page 540 of the owner's manual
I'm not 100% sure if these tires have the TPMS or not but the seller is saying i can try to bend the valve stem a bit and I should be able to feel more resistance if they are present?

If they are newer oem wheels and tires I bet the sensors are still there. This is my first vehicle with TPMS, so no firsthand tips here.
