Think corn is gonna come In later next week. Ended up canning 115 quarts of beans. Another 12-15 gallons picked since and given away. Tomatoes have just started coming in. Okra finally blooming but only about knee high.Squash and zucchini starting to decline. Watered heavy this week the last couple days. Mid 90s and no rain for over a week now.

Lynrd could you just hit it with 34-0-0? That’s what I side dress corn and beans with to get a boost.

Running soaker hoses this week while the corn is finishing out. Only one very brief rain in the last week and a half. Blueberries peaked I think. I’d guess about or around 4 gallons picked so far. Tomatoes coming in. I need to go fishing one morning. If I could get rid of the regular job I might have time to do what I want to do.

@Barsoom thank you for the idea of shavings, I finally got the time to do it and I think it is defiantly gonna help. I took a picture of it and look what walked around the front of the car as I took the picture . Thanx for the advice/help.

Looks great! At the end of the season mulch them in the top 2" of soil. Just rake them in. What state are you in? In GA they decay almost completely over winter.

1st pic from 2 and a half weeks ago. Trying our hand at sweet potatoes/. Last year we tried Beni-Imos (Okinawan purple potatoes), no luck.
Sticking with regular sweet potatoes this year.

It's been hot and we had some rain. Will take another pic tonight. Tubs are covered with vines.

So decomposition may take longer. If you do not rake them, you might be able to add less shavings next year.

Put a mesh bag over my Apache Blackberry bush, that's an 8 foot tall bag and 6 feet in diameter and barely fit. The Triple Crown is even bigger so going to just try to wrap it in some bird netting.

This is why we only grow bush berries

Leave cane berries for our farmers

    A day late.
All plants are from the same supplier, bought and planted on the same day. Same dirt. Two plants look awfull.
