    Hello!

Newbie here. I'm about to take the plunge into a roof tent and am curious why I haven't seen more things happening up there. The problems I see with the roof tents are: that it's hard to access anything not in the tent, and the tents seems to be mostly beds without space for much else.

I have a dream of a tent on my bed rack, but then a small deck on the cab bars that would allow me to come out the side window of the tent and be on a platform for a drink or keeping any luggage I would want to reach. Would be within weight limits of both roof racks... am I missing something dangerously obvious?
