Sorry to hear this, but that sounds right to me.. this is exactly what happened when I bent a rod in my 2TR.

I’d hate to see you sell the truck. Since the heads are already off, why not yank the short block out and take it to a machine shop for a refresh? Rods and pistons, and you’d have a setup ready for copious amounts of boost:D

I just don't have time to mess with it anymore... I have a company truck so I have no motivation to finish working on it, but ironically had I not had the company truck, it wouldn't need fixing, because it wouldn't have sat for a year and the IC wouldn't have filled up...

Been kinda window shopping tundras... One because v8 i guess, but 2 because they are way cheaper than comparable tacomas for some reason. I honestly would like a double cab with the 4.6, they get about the same mileage as the 4.0 with more room. But I have a work truck and a well worn RAV4 so I'm in no real rush

So I test drove it, the guy comes back with like $16,900 after fees and I was like "we're waaaay off" and he was like if I can get it to market value (like $13,900) I was like nah I don't need a truck, I just want a deal and market value ain't a deal. He said they had to make something on the truck and I said we were 5k off... He got $11,500 approved.it hasn't been on the lot long enough for them to detail it or anything so when I get off the ship Monday I'm driving it home. It's got some character, but it is a 15 year old truck and it's nothing more than I would wind up doing to it over the years I'm sure.
