Denver is one of my least favorite airports. I once had a connection that the United app estimated as 40 minutes just to get between gates, and it was pretty accurate even with me knowing where I was going. It can easily take an hour to get to my car after stepping off the plane, even without checked bags.

It's like 40 miles from the start of the mountains and 60+ miles from the 14000 ft peaks.

Hope you made it out. If not, it might be useful to know many of the bars/restaurants sell drinks to go.

I only like that DIA has FOOD. lots of food options.

I tend to stick to little airports if I can... Santa Fe over ABQ etc but when a monkey is hungry...

I pounded a too expensive bagel and a draft beer (good combo) and made it to my gate pretty fast. No signs that say you have to walk on the moving walkways haha.

Lots of options, but what's good? Honest question, I haven't found anything there that I get excited about.

I've spent most of my life as an airport time minimizer, but I'm learning to sit down and enjoy the finer things when they're available in an airport.

The one airport place I really like is the Rick Bayless restaurant in Terminal 1 at O'Hare. Good food, good cocktails, and it's run more like a fast-food place than a sit-down so it's usually quick and low-drama.

Did you get the joy of the little train between concourses?

One of my favorite airports is Madison, WI. They have a little convenience store past the TSA checkpoint where you can buy 12-packs of New Glarus beer to take with you.

The convenience store also sells singles to drink the terminal. The store stays open until the last flight leaves, which is actually kinda huge--I had a long night there once and bonded with the clerk as I gave him flight updates.

I LOVE the dark chocolate power cakes mix -- for fun I'll throw in some reeces peanut butter chips to make it uuuuuber fantastic.

There are TONs of recopies out there for protein ice creams -- a ninja is good for the ones you don't want to just fill with fat and sugar; it lets you blend and blend -- it's less ice cream I guess but lets me add protien easy. I've got the Whey Protein Isolate from bulk supplements which is basically tasteless so mix it with whatever. Same with their creatine.

When I find something soooooper good I'll share it here. I'm a sucker for things with oreo, peanut butter, mint choco chip -- and well blizzard like texture.
