replacing a $5k built in touch screen with your phone is the most amazing thing I have ever seen....

Would you buy your Tacoma with this option for $5k off the sticker price if it was an option??

My weekday commute is ~50 km (30 miles) so I could easily do this, and I don't care if it takes all weekend to charge on a 120V plug. Residential power is still relatively cheap here in BC.

Changing the insurance on the Tacoma away from "commuting" and only needing gas for fun trips starts to make this look sort of viable.

Bonus: 10,000 fewer kilometres (50,000 furlongs) on the Tacoma every year might help it last a lot longer.

I just saw that China is doing it also. I’m sure it’ll be here in the distant future, sort of like getting universal charging cords though in the meantime :annoyed:

RIP this truck. Doubt it's gonna be viable without the EV tax credit that now expires at the end of Sept this year.

I hope not [dead]... With or without the credit I'm still highly interested in securing one ~'27 to supplement and extend the life of my 19 mpg Tacoma. Top 4 with any kind of interest are:
    - Slate
    - Tesla-3
    - Toyota GR-86
    - Mach-1 Mustang (Long shot... but hey, gotta have a long shot)

100% agree. Every infotainment system I have ever owned was obsolete within 5 years. Nav on my '17 is pretty much worthless; I use Waze 99% of the time; Iheart or podcasts about the same... All that other crap in the infotainment screen I could care less (Ok the MPG display is cool, but a novelty I wouldn't spend more than $40 for)
