I mounted the new 2025 vintage brake levers on the old Hercules today; I couldn't find my tool for cutting down cable lengths (probably in storage), so for the moment, the cables are easily 15" to 18" too long. Other than that, the new levers and brake pads work great, even if they do look somewhat out of place on this bike.

It's a restomod... Most people wouldn't know the difference and most of the others won't care.

Patio cleared. Food put away. Just the missus a the in-laws came by for the holiday. She is going with her parents for the fireworks. I’m staying home with the pets. Keep the tv on and the house buttoned up. See how bad the noise is.

Yesterday I did some mods to my new Eddyline Stika XT kayak. I finished them up today so I can go kayaking tomorrow.

I did not like the permanent kinda high seat back so I removed it and added a backband along with bungee supports in back. I also added hip pads to better lock me in.

I also made an aluminum piece and fitted it to the seat adjustment knob and the front of the track to lock the seat in place. Under aggressive paddleing the seat would slide back as you extended the leg on the stroke side as should be done on each paddle stroke.

    Evening all:

:burp:, just got back from an invite to the neighbor's picnic, there were all kinds of goodies there! Even with a little of this and a little of that I didn't even get close to tasting everything that was there.

Dawgs were nervous for sure. We can’t leave them alone on the forth going forward. Wife went with her parents. I stayed behind. So that’s that.

Cats doing better this year. The battle is not as close anymore compared to where we lived 2005-2020

Dog doesn’t care a wit. She’s confident if we are confident.

As I said the 155’s are off in the distance. I like fireworks but some animals just can’t handle the shocking percussion

Good morning. Hopefully we will be able to pick up some steamed crabs this afternoon. Going to break in my sisters new grill with some chicken thighs, Italian sweet sausage links and some sweet potato wedges.

Yesterday was a laid back day with going out to listen to music at 3 venues.

Whenever I watch fireworks going off , it reminds me of the crazy fireworks on the island of Oahu . This only happens on New Years and is all illegal fireworks near Waipahu and Waikiki Beach

I wonder about that... I've only had one dog that had a problem and she was an adult rescue when I got her. I've got some sheep out in the back, and they are a flighty breed... and they are laying down, chewing their cud. Personally, I think animals get phobias transferred to them by the concern their owners visit on them. If you ignore the bangs, so do they. If you make a big deal out of the noise, they learn to pay attention. There may be exceptions, but in general...

Fireworks last night were significantly shorter than normal. They usually go for a solid thirty minutes, and this time maybe ten. The town has been spending money like crazy, so maybe it's caught up with them.

Dogs can definitely pick up on the owners emotions, I know ours does, you also can talk to them and they listen, I get the eye roll

No. The fear is also painful. Dogs hear well better than you or me. Sharp percussion triggers a fight or flight. Imho. And since we bred the fight out of the dog. Then flight is the only option. And when the door is closed you get one nervous mutt. In my case two. Chihuahua and an Alaskan malamute. With a touch of red heeler. Yeah my tv was turned up last night. lol.
