i got a code P0335 for crankshaft position sensor, also having what seems like some symptoms related to that. The truck still runs fine, but I want to replace it before a long road trip this summer.

I've located the sensor location and found a few forums discussing it. Looks like I at least have to unbolt and shift the ac compressor, but I can't find if anyone has successfully shifted the ac compressor without removing to get to the idle pulley bracket and also remove that. Since it looks like the CPS wiring runs behind that bracket.

So I'm asking, has anyone successfully replaced their CPS without needing to fully remove the ac compressor, just by shifting over?

    thx
