Interesting Toyota Trucks

Collection of interesting Toyota trucks of various types seen from my travels. I work on a vehicle carrier cargo ship (RO-RO) going all over the globe.

Not pictured is 70 series with 1GR-FE VVT-i engine still in production today. Best gas V6!

That hillux looks so much more "beefy" underneath than my tacoma. I'm very jealous.

 

The 70s with the service body and what I believe is a ARB winch bumper are awesome.

 

I love the straight lines across the front and the square headlights. Toyota never should have changed them.

Are those frames fully boxed?

 

Hilux and LC70's are fully boxed and probably a thicker steel as well.

Hilux and LC70 and Tacoma are all actually very similar in exterior size. Tacoma/4-Runner seems to be almost identical in frame construction as Hilux from about B-Pillar->forward.

 

Wow. Outstanding post! Would love to own that White HiLux....stripes and all and the giant "TOYOTA" on the tailgate and the 6 !!. leaf springs?? Or I'll take one of those tan utility trucks as a daily driver please. No one will ever know.

Seriously.....why can't I have a Hilux from a dealership in the USA!!!! Screw the chicken tax! I want a glorious new truck with a real manual transmission again!
