Need to sell the BMW to fund purchase. My luck, I will sell mine, and the guy will sell that one at the same time, then I will be without a street legal bike...unless I steal my son's xt250

The vstrom 650 was on my list, it makes the most sense for me but I'm enjoying the 1000cc life.

If I didnt have a young kid I'd commute more often and the 650 would make way more sense.

I have 2 buddies that owned the 650 and 1000 vstroms and endorse them to everyone.

That is good to hear. As much as I would love to have a Triumph speed twin, I can't afford one. The guy is asking same price that I bought my BMW, so it is kind of a no brainier. Plus, I commute on mine, and that little 323 cc BMW struggles over 60, especially pulling hills.

When I have to use my trailer to haul a bike I use this removable motorcycle wheel chock. It's quick release and the only thing that stays on the trailer is a metal bar screwed to the floor. This way I still have a flat deck for hauling stuff.
Might be a pingel brand. I've had it for probably 15 years or so, been on a couple of trailers

Pingel or a Pingel knock off. I have 2 of them in my enclosed trailer but bought an extra set of the mounting hardware and have it set up for hauling a single bike in the center or two bikes to the sides.

just a couple of things tbh
So I decided to try out the puig screen that came with my bike in the top box. Not shocking it sucks at highway cruising buuuut I found something interesting out! That speed wobble or vibration I always felt at 100+ was from my large windscreen. With the puig and tucking into the bike it held solid to 130 so ya that was interesting!

It does look really cool with the small screen but after riding highway for 30mins I was over it lmao. I'll keep it around for having fun but ya big wind screen goes back on!

I feel pretty confident about this procedure so far. I don't think I'll have any leaks thru the spokes. Not sure about the scratches I managed to inflict upon the inner wheel. I'll sand them down a bit and maybe that will be enough to seal. It's just paint, not gouges in the metal.
After 12 hours I feel it's cured enough (hearing bikes ripping around this morning isn't helping my patience :p) But FedEx has my back and will force me to wait until at least late this afternoon.
It's about 2-3mm thick and shows no sign of pulling off without quite a bit of effort.

Rear wheel has the safety lip. Front I feel is too narrow to worry about it. I'll still carry a spare front tube for a bit just in case.

Heading to UPS to return stuff and try the dealership again for boots.

Yeah, those fuckers lied to me. It's still showing "out for delivery" since 11:24 yesterday
If you said, I forgot. What product? I'm really considering doing one of my sets of wheels now

I don't think I mentioned it. E6000 automotive industrial. One tube per wheel is plenty.
Wash the shit out of it, degreaser, water, alcohol rub, hit each spoke hard with the air compressor to get the crap out and help with drying.
I started by splodging just the spokes and get it down inside where the threads are and around the edge. Take your time, if you move fast, the stuff will sag as you rotate the wheel. But no worries, it still spreads back flat. Let it set for about 15 minutes, then give it a layer all the way around. It shrinks a tad. I rotated the wheel every 5 minutes during initial setup.

Keep in mind, my first attempt at this.
Also, the 2nd and third time ever I have removed a motorcycle tire, so a total noob.

I've been reading/watching and the Warp 9 wheels have the ability to run tubeless(which makes me think maybe they have that little lip?). I don't think my factory wheels have it. I just can't decide if I want to try the new wheels or the factory ones. I keep leaning towards the factory so that if I screw it up....not quite as big a deal

There's really nothing to screw up. It either seals and works or it doesn't and you just install the tube and rim strip, leave the goop where it's at.

Not surprised with Astar stuff tbh. Have a look at Gaerne Fastback Enduro Boots.... currently 360 on RMATV and WAAAAAY better quality than anything astar puts out.

Maybe this has been covered, but what happens when you need to adjust spokes?

Managed to get out on the moto yesterday for a quick ride through the canyons and back up along the coast. BEAUTIFUL day and the swell at the beach was HUGE with surfers everywhere in spots I have never seen em surf before.

    I'll look into those.
Adjusting spokes will prolly cause a leak, best not do that on the trail. :D
I checked them before doing this, hoping they never need it. If they do, I'll pull the wheel and reseal it. No tube to mess with, easy peasy.
Prolly the biggest concern is getting a bent rim on the trail and not being able to hold air without a tube.
I did it for the ease of using a plug if I get a flat.
If they ever give me a bad day, you can bet I'll be putting the tubes back.
