Check me on this. When you set the blinker active, say to turn right. When you turn to the right maybe 70 degrees or so it’s supposed to click, if you turn more it clicks again. I think before you hit full lock it might click a total of 3 times. It sounds like you’re basically ratcheting some pawl that throws the blinker to inactive when you let the wheel unwind back to the opposite of the indicated turn direction. It all feels normal but I don’t remember if it audibly clicked or not in the past. My kid says he doesn’t think so, but he says a lot of things lol.

Does it the same going both ways at roughly the same angles and everything works right I just don’t recall those clicks but maybe I never noticed em and I’m just being neurotic.

Sitting in the driveway just tuning lock to lock with no signal indicated its silent. I gotta think this is normal and somehow I never noticed. I’m almost always listening to music or talk shows but today it was silent. Silence is the enemy you pick up on all sorts of other shit

This sounds like one of those things you could over think too easily.
If it's working, then let that shit go.

"Clicking": Your blinker fluid level is good. "No clicking": Your Blinker Fluid is low: Add Blinker Fluid :proposetoast:

^^^ This ^^^ ...or the use of Non-OEM fake Blinker Fluid ordered from sketchy Interweb sites.

I have, and I can't stand them. This weird obsession of jamming as many gadgets and programmable apps as humanly imaginable, while simultaneously making the control interfaces as minimalistic as possible, has gone beyond the deep end. The German luxury liners don't feel all that luxurious anymore, nor are they enjoyable to drive. They are more of a sensory overload experience now. It's like trying to relax in a leather recliner that's surrounded by slot machines.

From color changing door card accents, to seats that randomly change position "to reduce fatigue," to HUDs that will project little blue holographic arrows over the approaching side street as part of the nav system... it's too much. It's less a car and more of a ADHD child screaming "ooh, look what I can do now."

Give me simple any day. Those cars are silly and I want no part of them.

There was an article a few years back about how BMW and Merc ruined automotive dashboards by moving everything to the multi-purpose knob on the center console. They wanted a clean and clear aesthetic that didn't look like a cockpit. So everything is nested 9 menus deep on a rotary dial in the center. Then everyone followed suit because if Bimmer and Mercedes does it, it must be a good idea.

But the whole point of an airplane cockpit is to be intuitive to someone who is piloting a plan and needs quick easy access to function the plane accordingly.
It's like they said "Lets take this simple good idea that works well and has been proven over time to be safe, efficient, and reliable, and lets make a car that looks like the Guggenheim instead, sleek and modern."

While I'm on that soap box, I'll finger wag Toyota a bit (others too) because they don't CLUSTER similar features. Example... The ECT Button, 4Hi / 4Lo, Crawl Control, Locker are all in different locations through out the cab. Put ALL of the GDAMN Transmission / Drive Train controls in ONE area, clustered together please. All of them on the overhead console is fine. All of them on the center console next to the gear shift is fine. All of them on the dash undee the radio screen is fine. But for God's Sakes man - corral them buttons please.

Re: Cockpit/Intuitive. Agree completely. Don't care how it looks: it's intuitive: even this one from around 1970 when it was introduced. (B747)
