This is from the Anytime Camera website FAQ's.

    Q. When I press my switch from the "FRONT" position to the center position the rear camera flashes on the screen, is this normal?
    A. Yes this is normal operation. The switching relay toggles between the Front and Rear camera feeds and when you change the switch from the front to the center position the relay is electronically switching quicker than the switch you are pressing with your finger.

I've had this issue for a long while, and I'm certain it is heat related. The rear works fine, it is just the front when wheeling slowly (when i want it most). I'm likely going to try a new camera, not trying to build a support system of fans for a shitty camera.

Possibly a grounding(edit: the possible grounding issue could be causing too much heat in hot weather?) issue into the switching relay. I tinkered with mine and its flashed maybe once in the last year, prior to that it would flash sometimes uncontrollably or shut off. I had 2 kits and tried different cameras. Just my experience though. Next time if I were to do it again id just return the kit til I got one that worked correctly. Such a PITA... Before I figured my issue out, 2 different shops TRIED fixing it....

Appreciate the input, but my symptoms match the other guys here who have mentioned temp issues. It works perfectly day to day, however when on for long duration wheeling (not going fast and the grill isn't getting air flow) it flickers on and off. Even when the front is flickering, the rear works just fine. I think I'm going to order a new camera to see if that will remedy it.

I had intermittent camera issues like many here the entire time having my camera. I’ve run the natika camera since day one. I’ve had it two years. This past week my screen went black (for front only, rear works perfect) I tried hooking up another front camera and still same result…. Pure black screen.

I refuse to buy anything else from them. They refuse to respond to any form of communication

Hmm my rear camera just started doing this, which is weird. Front camera works fine though.

The only issue I have is with the switch not lighting up (don’t even know if it’s meant to).

When I go wheeling I leave the front camera on the entire time without any issues.

be aware that the natika cameras are NOT completely waterproof and will blank out when wet if water intrudes the the seam between the lens and camera body. Pressure washing your grille certainly will do it. slather some rtv silicone around the seams and let cure. problem solved, unless you still have ground issues.

I was having the flashing/flickering/black screen for a while. Since I'm in AZ, I thought it was due to heat. My fix was the ground. Rear cam was using the ground from the OEM backup camera plug. When I moved it to chassis ground, the flicker went away. The front camera ground wasn't even connected and it would work most of the time. Put that on the chassis ground and it is good now too.

It should be coming off the camera side of the cable:

    upload_2025-6-30_14-27-40.png

Both of my cameras use the trigger wires for power. Black to chassis grounds and then the red wires are capped.

Mine is more likely both, ha. My wifes car battery died last night and while I was replacing it, my front camera starting blinking. @Tcodyw88 - any chance you have a wiring diagram of how you set those fans up?

Now I'm leaning back towards the ground wire. Yesterday my front cam started blinking after 15 minutes of use. Ground wire was bolted here:

I moved the ground wire this morning to a frame bolt and then ran some errands for about an hour. Had the front cam on for most of it. Not a single flash or flicker. It is about 10 degrees cooler today though but still in the triple digits.

I'm going to keep testing it over the weekend. I even bought a set of electric fans to install just incase. I may get to return them now, ha.

Mine seems to not work at home or local...but I get on a trail and it does just fine. Maybe I should just count my lucky stars.

The grounds under this shrink tube weren't isolated... That was my issue, and the new switch relay fixed it

Doesn’t that qualify as a product "defect" and warrant a free replacement from the vendor?

Exactly. Idk who makes the kits, im guessing the owner(small company)After reaching out to the company, a couple times, I gave up. He had no clue what the problem was after speaking to him over the phone, I think he was the owner and was New york number... this was a few years back. I just didn't wanna deal with it anymore and had a week long trip coming up. I got a couple spare parts though! lol :sadviolin:
