I see it often, too. It's either the connector is not snug anymore and all the vibrations cause it wiggle thus the current can only flow thru a small section of the terminal and builds up heat.

Or the clutch itself is wearing out and the magnets are working hard.

When those connectors go bad, I cut them off and just install female spade connectors and heat shrink them good so if the wires come off and don't arc.

These are the terminals I use. They are crimp on connectors.

This pic just shows the wire side heat shrank. Once you heat both male and female sides and the middle, the connection is very weather resistant and difficult to pull apart.

    Check out this hot mess!

    Mating a JD 757 Z Track to a Predator 670.

JD doesn't use colors to keep the wires organized. They use small numbers to label the chassis side wiring. No joy!

Spent an hour wiring up a temporary wire harness to make both sides play nice.

JD schematic is useful, but I much prefer different colored wires like Kohler does.

Kirk said "I can top that, I'll use all blue wires":rofl::rofl:

I am impressed with the projects you take on, and make work :fistbump:

Yea they’re the goods. When you sharpen them be sure to sharpen the upturned fins also. You don’t gotta razor sharp them just keep them crisp square. I have the heavier duty G6 gators and they are the only blades I’ll use anymore.

Well this was fun. Nice little flash flood. We had one two years ago but this was was worse. Got an inch of rain in 10-15 minutes and it just all funnels down the hills behind our property. This one would have been worse but after the last one we rented a mini excavator and dug a 12-18" and banked the dirt to create a trench and berm. It took a lot of the water but eventually a portion failed and washed out (the berm not the trench)

Thankfully our house and the big shop are elevated enough to not really be in any danger. But our "small garage" got flooded. Was about 4" of water in it plus all the silt and mud so thats fun. The yard also had some of the dirt and road base/rocks wash into it a bit but overall thats not to bad. Just going to be some cleanup of that silt/mud.

O and our bank to the irrigation ditch took some damage so we will have to evaluate that but we didnt really go over to it. And our road had some o fthe road base/gravel wash off but thats an easy enough fix to not really care. Already went out and fixed a couple spots with the back blade
