I just did my oil change for 15k miles. Went under the truck to check for drive shaft zirk fittings. I couldn't see a single one. Am I getting blind?

    Can anyone confirm please...

    Truck is 2023 TRD OR

    Thanks

Pretty sure starting 2020 they made them without the zerks. For all trim levels

Why does the manual say lubricate propeller shaft?

The manual was written overseas and mistranslated.
    The original roughly reads:
There are no longer fittings however to be safe take truck to your dealer, grease their palms, lubricate driveshaft until wallet is empty. You are now fully shafted until the next payment interval.

Some of the early 3rd gen 4x4 had a few zerks but they did away with them a few years ago.

My 2016 4x4 has 5 Zerks that I grease when I do an oil change. Post #1 shows the 5 greaseable Zerks.

Here is some interesting information on this link.

“Bottom line on strength: The non-greaseable joint is slightly stronger than a greaseable joint. The exact number, how much stronger, is unknown and we do not believe it to be very significant.

Bottom line on wear life: A regularly greased greaseable joint will outlive a non-greaseable joint. But a non-greaseable joint will outlive a greaseable joint that does not get greased properly.”

A few minutes with a greasegun every other oil change, or one big job replacing all the sealed u-joints. I know which one I'd prefer.

Op- had the same hangup when I first crawled under my truck. Model year '22 has sealed u-joints.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Most people not doing offroading probably won't have to replace their sealed ujoints till they're well over 100k. This is one maintenance item I'm pretty ambivalent about.
