Common Toyota, Lexus, and Scion problem. Go to Toyota , they sell a two part kit to clean and deodorize ac system. You shoot foam up drain hose and seal up drain, then spray the other spray into intake on cowl. Had to do this once a year on both of my Scion TC's

Fram fresh breeze helps worth the buy, I live on the coast here in the bay area so I always have the AC on to fight the humidity. I get that this iodine smell after hours of driving and leaving it over night. My best new practice is to turn AC off when I can and let it dry out. Just had the AC refilled and blowing around 35 degrees( very happy for when I go out to the valley or Southern California.

I had a musty/mildew odor coming from the A/C in my Mustang. I sprayed Ozium into the cowl intake and it didn't really change anything, but then I blasted some Lysol in there and it seems like it killed whatever was lurking in the core. It's been stink-free for a month now, will continue to evaluate it throughout the summer. My next step would have been some kind of bleach solution.

My 2005 has a Cabin Air Filter. I change it with every oil change during the Hot Months in New Mexico.

My Tacoma had a funky old people odor (an elderly couple owned it) when I bought it (2017 TRD OR 4x4 w/ 28K on the odometer).

I sprayed Summer Linen air freshener, replaced the cabin filter and hung Summer Linen scent trees in mine and the odor persisted.

A friend of mine recommended this.

30 mins on the front passenger side floor board, 30 mins on the front driver side, 30 mins on the arm rest and 30 mins in the middle of the back seat, windows up and doors closed and the smell was gone.

After I was done, I rolled the windows down and left the doors open for several hours because the ozone smell is super strong and will cause you to cough.

They also work great in bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms. Larger rooms take a little longer and you have to move them around accordingly (pick a direction and interval. Clockwise or counterclockwise).
