I currently have ko2 on my 4wd truck now. I live in Florida so rain and slippery concrete boat ramp traction is important. I also load in dirt boat ramps so i need some traction there as well. I don't put my truck through thick mud but I do work construction and need enough traction to get through a bit of soggy stuff.

I am looking for a tire more oriented towards road and mpg with mild off road capabilities. I like the idea of the Defender 2's but I am not sure if they will be decent in anything off-road.

Will these tires increase my MPG?
Should I get a higher load rated tire for puncture resistance at work?

Both of those are good choices, neither will help with MPG and using LT tires are only going to hurt MPG.

I've offroaded with Michelin LTX and they do just fine, and I met a landcruiser last weekend that was offroading with them.

If you're doing trails just make sure to deflate. Same with boat ramps, if its struggling just dump 10psi.
