Hello. Please help. I have a 2016 Tacoma with stick head unit. Non JBL. I bought a plug and play harness from TT that runs my Kicker Key 200.4 which runs my doors and dash kicker speakers. and also an Alpine S-A60m that runs my 12" sub. I'm so confused on how to install the epicenter micro. I know how to ground and power but not sure on inputs and outputs? Is it just supposed to go off my sub amp? I was thinking it would be good that my door speakers benefit from it as well. Please help. Thx

being that you have a sub, you really should be running a high pass on the doors so the doors and subwoofer aren't playing redundantly-- it can cause phasing issues in some cases.

because of that, the epicenter should go to only the sub amp.

but more importantly, is how the current setup is wired. i'm not entirely sure which harness you're using from tt, but it appears everything they sell is 'wire only', meaning that there's no high/low conversions happening, and the amps would be getting a high level signal from the head unit.

both your amps are capable of that, so it's no big deal for them. however the epicenter is a low level input only, so you will need to add a speaker level converter to the wiring before it goes to the sub amp.

your wiring should look like this.

    head unit--->converters-->splice/split for both amps

from split--> to kicker amp for door/dash speakers

from split-->to Line output converter-->to epicenter-->to alpine sub amp.

    This is not accurate.

    INPUTS
    • Speaker Level Input: 1 (2 channels)
    • Maximum Speaker Level Input: 40 Vrms / 400 W (20kΩ setting)
    • Speaker Level Input Impedance (selectable): 20Ω, 60Ω, 20kΩ
    • Line Level Input: 1 (2 channels)
    • Line Level Input Impedance: 7kΩ
To answer OP, the Epicenter installs in the signal path between the source unit and the subwoofer amplifier. However you are feeding signal to your subwoofer amplifier is what you would connect to the input of the Epicenter. The output of the Epicenter then connects to the input of your subwoofer amplifier. Be careful to correctly reset all of your signal gains, you need a lot of headroom when using Epicenter processors.

    thanks for the correction.

if i remember correctly, i had looked up a very old epicenter manual at the time of posting.

pulling up the manual now(just searching "audio control epicenter")
    https://www.audiocontrol.com/downloads/car/current/epicenter/epicenter-user-manual.pdf

this still very much indicates that it's only a low level rca. though this manual iteration denotes it can handle up to 15v input, which should cover most speaker level inputs. but i'm also not seeing the 40v input rating you're seeing.

how many iterations of it are there?

OP said he bought a Epicenter Micro. I quoted the manual for that version. I think there are at least four different Epicenter models, I'm sure there are differences between them, as well as older versions.

    Edit - https://audiocontrol.com/car-audio/the-epicenter-processors/

Looks like there are currently six of them. I like the Micro PRO, it looks like the best one.
