The moral of this story is the power company are cheap fucks and stopped proactively clearing the power easements . . .
    So . . .
    This shit happens
    Used to never happen

    I'm chilling

    7in of rain
Winds came in at the end and trees started coming down
Power been out since 1800 yesterday
    ETA is now 1500

    I gotta go get more gas . . . .
I should be fine till 1500 but I'm not sure I trust em to fix that shit on time

    Lots of trees down/roads closed
Some roads are washed out [my friend's driveway and road out of her hood are gone so she ain't goin anywhere]

    The drive should be interesting...

The bridge over the river [that I take to go to work] is underwater as is the lower half of the mill building the shop is in [we are not on the lower level but we had storage down there so hopefully there wasn't too much]. Hoping that bridge isn't damaged b/c to cross the river anywhere else is like a 8 mile detour..

    Will do!

I have power just not street power so I really can't complain...
Had I planned slightly better, I might not need to run out - might -
    Lesson learnt

Gonna figure out how to attach the generator to the propane line - then, never again will I be without power

    Yea . . . .
I made it thru half my dinner before it went out
It tried real hard to stay up
3x it went bounce, bounce, out and then came back
The final time, I was like -yup-fucked-won't be back till after sunrise-
Done this enough to know how it goes so . . . .

Shouldnt be too bad depending on location of your propane line

I remember the storm we had the Saturday night before Easter. Power kept blinking close to 10pm and finally nothing. Didn't come back up until 1ish the next day. We got lucky, just down the road people were out until Wednesday. Neighbor right beside me had power the entire time

The farmhouse behind me they have a Generac so if SHTF again I could at least get some water to flush toilets.

My dumbass mostly just needs to locate the hose that came with the generator and fucking attach it . . .
Not sure where it is right now

I also had not realized - till my neighbor showed me - that the propane line into the house actually has a fitting on it that I can attach to
And all of this is adjacent to the power inlet

I used to fill up the tub for that purpose

Here it depends on who your power company is...
    Duke/Progress - fuck you
Randolph Electric [co-op] - your shit will NEVER go down or if it does, it is restored in an hour
    I am a mile from Randolph . . .

I have Randolph Fiber [also co-op] and they are fucking amazing/never goes down

Some of the main lines are right at my house. I usually don't have too many problems, but when you get 80-90mph gust shit is gonna snap. o_O I could honestly take a bucket with a rope on it and dip into the cistern worst case.
