    V6, auto, 233,xxx miles.

Charged A/C, lasted a couple of days. Had added fluorescent dye in the past but had to wait for new light to come in.

Nice "spattered" coating of dye all over the compressor front and around the "top hat" where the hoses connect mainly. But does not seem to be the hoses or the connections. A hint at the dryer receiver but just a dot really.

No leaks noted anywhere else at all. Compressor time?

Edit: added the picture. There is more glow at the front, which I could not capture.

If a shaft seal kit is availble and you have the tools it is about 25% the price of a compressor replacement. Wonder if Timmy has avideo on this.

If I'm understanding where the dye is splattering correctly, sounds like it is compressor time.

Don't see one. Probably don't have the tools anyway.

Your Top Hat o-rings may be faulty.

Or the gasket between the top plate & the compressor body.

Is there a parts breakdown? Any hidden ball checks or spring loaded stuff in those things? That might rush for freedom when I go to replace those seals?

If you remove the top plate you will see only the internals of the compressor. (No balls or springs)

Whats the evaporator look like?…….for me 9 times out of 10…its the evaporator, the more challenging part to change, on a Tacoma not to bad.
