Pigs close, they're about a mile away, just haven't made it my direction. Lucky so far, it's been two years and no pigs.

Hello, TW deer-hunting folks! New here and just saw this thread. It's funny, when I was selling my old Tundra I considered getting a WRX, but kept thinking "how would I stuff a deer in there though?" - so I did the right thing and went with a Tacoma.

Saw a ton of nice deer while turkey hunting this spring, can't wait! I mostly hunt traditional, and bust out the rifles as an 'insurance policy' if it comes to that. (Attached is my biggest deer so far)

Welcome, beautiful buck! Traditional bows are very rewarding, when you take an animal with them.

    Nice, AR setup?

I kinda hated the 450 after several incidents of exploding projectiles and poor blood trails, and bought a 350 legend. But, when my boys took my 350s, I had to go back to the 450. I switched rounds to the Barnes Vor-Tx from the standard Hornady stuff, and wow! What a difference... Single entrance and exit, good blood, deer down in sight every time.

Anyway, good luck with the rifle!

Yep AR setup. I’ve hunted the last couple years with AR10 308 great rifle but heavy to walk up a mtn with this is much lighter. I guess we will see what the Hornady ammo does. I tried Hornady in my 270 years ago and lost a deer to a bullet exploding and not leaving good blood. If all else fails I grab the Browning 308 never lets me down

Curious about your AR10 308 specs; I'm about to pick up one and change a few things to my liking, then deer hunt with it. What ammo do you prefer? I'm thinking I need to be 150+ grain and staying away from core-lokt

Winchester power point should be on that list too

my last buck had a index finger sized hole entrance and exit, so zero expansion, and only 5-10 drops of blood. Thankfully he was less than 30 yards from where I shot him. Sadly that 30 yards was a honey locust thicket I had to skull drag my big ass through
