    No wiring at all.
The shaft was longer on the HF engine but it mounted "taller" so the length was perfect.
The brake cable clicked right into position as well.

Nice!!! I have a fairly new Honda push that I bent the crank on.. Never thought of a just over $200 replacement.. :hattip:

    Got a part number??

So, I’ve been a bit cryptic lately about moving but we found a place, below the Notches but still in NH. Lotsa acres with an attached 2 car BUT no outbuildings other than a tiny shed, say 8x12. We’re hoping to put the home on the market later this summer and move to the new place then.

In any case, I swung by our closest (0.4 miles away) new neighbors who have an open invitation to swing by any time. The husband is a craftsman extraordinaire. Cabinetmaker, house builder, metal worker. He has a shop with all sorts of implements. This punch really stuck my eyes and I got his permission to post it here:IMG_8877.jpg

I figured this would be the place to post it

His wife is a delight, too. Retired nurse. Both of them are from where we moved from 23+ years ago.

My wife and I couldn’t be happier!!

Hope y’ll have a good evening

HF only has one vertical shaft engine, 5.5 HP.

It was a really easy change out too.
One mounting bolt hole is threaded and the bolt is included.
I could have just through bolted the other two but the holes were already drilled for a 3/8" tap so it was only 5 minutes to tap them and reuse the original bolts.

The folks we bought our place from built it 20 years ago. Nice to have a poured foundation rather than fieldstone with brick on top. They were really good friends with the neighbors and we’re trying to continue that with them .

Good to know the folks next door when you’re so remote…. Got to meet the neighbors on the other side, just about a half a mile away. I hear that guy can fix anything which aligns with my skill set nicely :anonymous:

where is the fun in that?

Congrats on the new place and the new neighbors. We lucked out as well. One neighbor is a retired ship builder(US NAVY Destroyers), another is a carpenter and the other is retired but runs a one man, small excavation business and plows in the winter. His business is named Whatever Works LLC. All three great neighbors.

Went to a funeral yesterday afternoon. Wife and kids met me there since it was close to work. Afterwards I had to go look at a guys tractor so that is what Cole and I did. Didn't take long and he ask what is next? I said let's stop by and see my parents.

I rang the doorbell and I heard the dog start barking. Growing up, my parents hated animals in the house. This dog is a chocolate lab that belongs to my niece and it does not listen.

Mom opened the front door, Cole held the storm door and it was awkward. Almost like we were dropping off a package or something and she expected us to leave.

She finally said come in. The dog...ugh. My dad was in his recliner and he can't hear good so I had to get close to him to talk to him.

The dog wouldn't stop jumping on Cole and I. I can't stand that, never liked it when I had a dog(s) and would MAKE them quit, they knew better.

Mom had blankets on every piece of furniture in the house. We stood there for 5 minutes and I got tired of fighting the dog so I said to Cole, let's go home buddy.

That is the 3rd time in a row I've stopped by there and they haven't ask us to sit down, even at the table in the kitchen. Very odd but whatever.

My wife and daughter stopped by to see my cousin. Yada yada when I got home my wife said did you know your niece is getting married and your dad is officiating it?

I said I knew she was engaged but had no idea dad was doing it, or even could. Guess that's another wedding we won't be invited to, fine with me.

I remember why we moved to Virginia :D

Ugh, why are some families like this... I was always (and still am) the black sheep of what little family is left. Been like that my whole life, and people wonder why I was never around much when I got older. My one cousin has been too.

Somehow we wound up in the same town and she likes cars and stuff so a slight silver lining
