6’ bed mat in 5’ bed

A 6’ OEM bed mat has popped up for sale locally for a decent price. I have a 5’ bed. Is the extra 1’ of bed length in a long bed all in front of the wheel wells? I’m wondering if the only thing I’d have to do to get this to fit is cut off 1’ from the front of the mat.

 

I believe that is very likely the case. The distance from where the the wheel well taper starts to the front of the bed is about 19" in my Gen 3 LB. I assume that distance is about 6 inches in the SB. Conversely, its about 33" from the aft wheel well taper to the end of the bed. Thats some thick rubber, though.

 

You have 4th gen? You posted in 4th gen thread. I noticed you have 3rd gen that listed under your name on the left side of the forum.

Have you seen that 4th gen geedar mat in person? Wondering how it stacks up vs OEM.

 

They are basically all same material, meaning all rubber. Same shape, same size, they have different patterns such as chevron, etc. For example, you pick 5ft bed, you see same size and shape mats in the results. They have different patterns, such as chevron, stripes, etc.

 

Works with too tall bodies in coffins, probably work in truck beds.

 

I trimmed mine and it fit well.
