    Hey Troy

I just ordered a Bluetooth OBD II scanner/code reader.
    Prime day deal

    https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-OBDCheck-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Supports/dp/B073XKQQQW?c=ts&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uDIDkg0tAnO8lJHLZIW75P884vZUZXWenkGtxLmDS7A7fC03Tq1G-GUvtlF525siMpBXiF-EHHUBdHKoY1_kBpt7Mu6V3tHzdgM-vfj4VAf_EaJvIRREK-IDH9VzPQijbQcZJEfHgd7-ds5HxAQKd0VjRuCwD6l_GvN1GcXG6uolcNji4vje1GTNn5jdWanq8WHGbwlVJRYUwzXBt68DonGqALfiKIhAz4ysYsvEvGNzV_zJ0FxhOhgKKiKKi3kXZ9jgXbEcfmZlSrysk9AX7aVT1s2mSqFSmJAK-XrCW30.b6qeYIKI5i8cKSUmt5T2v8T77L_1cjOiv7JvB2BEXcw&dib_tag=se&keywords=Code+Readers+&Scan_Tools=&qid=1751989834&s=automotive&sr=1-2&ts_id=15707381

From what I can gather, it may or may not have all possible functions on a vehicle of the vintage of a 2006 Tacoma, but we'll see :fingerscrossed:
That's partly dependent on the software I'll install on my phone from the Play Store, some of which ain't free.
Hoping it'll be able to read transmission temperature, in particular.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion/ advice

BTW, I'm loving my new head unit.

I have a similar little dongar thing. I had a free software and wasn't able to read trans temps on a 3rd gen, but that could have been the program I was using. It did help me diag some stuff on that '95 Talon I had.

I have that same one! 3rd Gen is tough to get around the security module but 2nd Gen you should have no problems.

    I use Torque
It cost me 1$ a long time ago

I use it on my 2011 and 2013
Doesn't do everything but I can pull/clear codes to diag issues which is all I really care about

ALSO: My OBD Bt dongle is old AF
