Good stuff out in the California high desert. I’ve not visited the sculptures in a 4x4 but I’ve been many times on moto. I have friends in Borrego, Joshua Tree, Johnson Valley, etc that I visit regularly so a bunch of my moto fam here in AZ often gather to roll to SoCal where we rent casitas in a Desert Hot Springs RV park to serve as our home base while we roll out during the day to Borrego, JTree, Salton Sea, Julian, Big Bear, Idyllwild, Mt Palomar, Lake Henshaw, Escondido etc. I’ll be visiting my high desert homies for some 4x4ing & camping with them this holiday weekend so may return w/ some truck photos w/ the sculptures…

A few more pics from today's adventures up Santa Fe Peak 4x4 trail near Montezuma, Colorado.

That's awesome but that shelf road looked a little skech!

It definitely was. I had a 45 second pause to contemplate if I wanted to keep going. No place to turn around and severe reluctance to back up the way I came prompted me to continue on.

I have seen your profile picture somewhere, before ...

Another poster maybe even a year ago posted a picture of a terrifyingly narrow road he was driving, looked like that "edge" on BOTH sides. His description of progress basically was "drive 5 inches, get out and check tires position ... rinse and repeat". He may have even needed to travel that sketchy narrow road in reverse ... :eek:o_O:annoyed:

I hope someone else remembers and finds the post. That road I speak of is only barely wider than the truck and it looked like driving the scary top ridge of a mountain.

Back in the 80s a professor at my college would drive out from Michigan to Colorado every summer and fill his trunk with as much Coors as possible. Then he drove back to Michigan. Um ... well ... we know what that is called ... :anonymous::cheers:
