Because searching for stuff is frowned upon ....

Which is the preferred connector to use to mount next to the license plate? Like a lot people here, my stock one mounted below the bumper got destroyed on the trail. I actually have a video of it when it happened.

    TIA

Pretty much any? I just use some cheap one like this. Drilled a hole in bumper, well, 5 holes, lol, and wired it up. Was pretty simply.

Awesome, thanks! I saw one on Vine, so figured I should finally do this.

I picked one at Tractor Supply that fit into the license plate light hole, so four holes instead of five. If I had to do it again I would get one with both a four way and seven way plug so I didn't have to keep an adapter around.

Thanks manalo07. I hear ya! I thought about that too. I think if I saw one on Vine, I would have gotten it.

I moved mine by the 5 hole method.

And of course the first use needed a "4" type plug-in. So I bought a convenient adapter that plugs into the RV-7 pole when I need it. I've been considering a switched jumper from the tail lights or 12v power lead to the back-up circuit. Just installing the waterproof switch at the rear of the bed and then using it when trailering to temporarily light the area - without leaving the truck in reverse with E-brake engaged.
