Friend at church ask if I would see if I could get his tractor running. I said I’ll stop by one day after work, today was the day. Nice Kubota with 288 hours on it, bad thing is that it sits outside.

He got on it, said he charged the battery yesterday. He moved both gear sticks to the neutral position and pushed the clutch in. Turned the key and the fuel solenoid clicked, that was all it would do.

I didn’t take any tools with me and I had nice clothes on since I just came from a funeral.

He said the PTO lever is over here and it’s in the off position. I walked to the other side to see it and it was in the position with the arrow in a circle. I moved it to the one without the arrow in a circle and said “try it now”.

:spending: Here is the bill for $75. Now I know you won't charge him but if the lesson hurt just a little more don't you think he would remember it better?

Figured as much. Poor attempt at sarcastic humor on my part. I wouldn't stay in business long as I would give away too many services just to be nice.

I never include labor when I work on my neighbor’s mowers, vehicles, fallen trees etc. but she always slips in a little bonus to the parts bill. Believe me when I say I don’t need the money. I guess she does it to make herself feel better as she’s got people in her life that could help but don’t lift a finger.

It's a shame that we all know someone in her position....with worthless family and such. I also know a lot of us are stubborn and won't ask for help, but I'm getting better about that. I realize that it's also a way to spend time with people you like. One thing I also learned is that asking family mechanics and others to do work for you should always be paid for (and not taken lightly). I have my nephew work on my truck because I 100% trust his work so I make sure I pay him more than needed to show my appreciation. Just life lessons.

After my latest mower repair job I've got some parts I don't need. OEM NIB never opened. The online parts store I bought them from make it almost impossible to return and at a substantial price loss. The person I bought them for is willing to eat the parts and told me to just keep them on hand as spares. Anyone know of a way I could sell them as NIB and recover some of the cost. CL or MP? Local dealers?

My 2005 Husqvarna riding mower has seen better days . I can not get it to cut evenly anymore . Adjusted the deck as best I could ,I just think the deck and the hangers are worn out . Also needs 4 tires and seat . The Kawasaki engine will run forever though . I’m taking a Husqvarna my SIL has with a Briggs and Stratton ,not very old but he had engine problems and Lowe’s sent it out and it came back with the same problem. They gave him his money back and told him to keep the mower . He bought a Cub Cadet that was over $4ko_O
Maybe my Kawasaki can be swapped over to his mower :notsure: same make and model just 15 years newer .

    Do it!

If they are both the same orientation, then they have the same base bolt pattern.

I've got the following OEM B&S parts all NIB. Note that these parts were bought specifically for B&S engine model Husqvarna 775EX 111P02-0116-F1 but fit many other models.
    796475 Gasket-Cylinder Head - Briggs and Stratton
    796496 SCREW PACK 2 - Briggs and Stratton -
These are the 2 bolts for the muffler
798938 - Thermostat - Briggs and Stratton - part of the auto-choke system
    799155 - Guard-Flywheel - Briggs and Stratton
You can't even imagine what hoops this online store has a customer jumping through to return parts. I'm sure it's all part of a scheme to get customers to get frustrated and just keep the parts.

Maybe check your tire pressures. Probly a ply tire and they are not uncommon to get weird shapes as they age. Maybe the circumferences of the rears are different and your deck adjustments is not compensating enough for it.

That was my first thought also....mainly because that was an issue I had with low tire pressure!
