Has anyone ever repainted or re-powder coated their aftermarket UCA’s? I’m rebuilding my Camburgs and realized the powder coating is failing after 9yrs of abuse and PNW weather so I just dropped mine off to have them powder coated gloss black. Camburg is sending some replacing stickers so they should look pretty badass as finished up. I’ll post pics when I get them all done. But curiosity of anyone else has ever done this ?

Here what they look like now so you can see what I mean. Rust will keep spreading if I ignore this

I cleaned the heck out of the SPC's and then light sand them all over to open up. Use light primer...regular red base and then went on top with this type of product for calipers paint

    https://erapaints.com/product-category/caliper-paints/

Check post #3 or 4 in my build thread and you can see they look.

Most PC companies build sand blasting into the quote. When I inquired about getting my previous JBA UCA's powder coated, they quoted $150 (shop min) and that included sending them out for sand blasting.

Yep the shop I dropped them off at is sand blasting them first before the new powder coating. Most reputable shops won’t powder coat without a blast first so it actually sticks. I’m pretty excited to see how they turn out. Camburg offers matte black UCA’s but only for the ball joint style arms not for the uniball. I think the gloss black is going to look pretty good since my Truck is also black and I have new Kings as well.

Here’s what my uniball’s look like after 9 years and 92k miles. If you shake them you can hear the bearing slopping around.

When I had my JBA's, I rubbed off some of the paint or coating, whatever it was. I just used some Krylon Matte Red Pepper spray paint and touched them up. The only prep I did was cleaning any dirt off and then wiping them down with some IPA.
