2017 silver tacoma sr5 accessories cab

Is the converter cover really needed , number 7 inside 5 on diagram? Seems to just be a cat cover and it’s rattling when accelerating

Might just be the clamp that holds the shield pieces together is loose or broken. I had the same prob on my 2nd gen and a hose clamp was all it took to solve the rattle problem.
