My wife had her feet soaked when she was driving daughter’s 2006 Tacoma. We’ve had a lot of rain this week. I opened this compartment today & it had water in it. IMG_1104.jpg I went out & sprayed water from hose from top of windshield to bottom, top & & down pillar of door, & all over cowl at bottom of windshield & see no water coming through. The fuse panel behind that cover looks dry. Carpet is dry. Firewall behind pedals is dry. Any help appreciated before I give up & bring it to a shop.

Don’t know. I already dried out that compartment.

I'd see if the seam sealer is missing or deteriorated over time. (It's almost 20 years old now).

    See the TSB attached.
Note: the seem is on both sides.
Ignore the "right side" illustrations. It's just there for illustration. (But the left side has the same seem.)

Also, has there ever been a windshield replacement in the past?

Thanks. AFAIK, windshield is original, but I do know truck has had damage on driver side front before.

Cowl seam isn’t leaking. Looks like seam has been welded on & windshield has been replaced. Brand is FUYAO. Not tackling behind fender today. Wife did say water didn’t fall until she started moving, like it was held up somewhere. I broke some clips on cowl. Will that affect anything?

No. It won’t hurt hurt any thing.
Drivetside leaks are hard to find on these trucks.

they usually leaks in the passenger side.
In through the air intake for the AC. Or believe it or not, the antenna pass through.

    Can't wait to start!
Following, the same thing is happening to my '09. This was while I had a cracked windshield though which was replaced last fall. I haven't seen any water since but I don't drive it often.
Thanks @ThShooter, I'll check out the TSB.

Nice one. Never heard of this issue. That whole cowl area can be a PITA with collecting leaves and debris that will pack in and capture moisture.

Surprisingly, mine didn’t have leaf or debris buildup, & it’s parked in the open.

Took it to a shop. Guy said 3rd brake light was leaking & water running along pillars to dash. He sealed it. Sounds odd to me but we shall see next time it rains, which is next week.

Problem persists. Gonna check more areas when weather cooperates & time permits.

Thought I found it but all windows blow bubbles in this spot.

Windshield from middle to drivers side shows no leaks. Only other place I know to check is behind fender when I get time.

Are those bubbles created by following the instructions in the TSB.... by using blower fan? Working on finding a leak and looks like a good method to follow.

To update, the truck isn’t leaking at the moment. I went through a drive through car wash & no water entered. It just monsooned here & nothing. Only thing I did was mess with the door weather stripping. Fingers crossed!
