I was considering purchasing a 2016 Tacoma v6 4wd with 125k miles. Looking at the Carfax I don't every see an auto fluid change listed. Would I want to change that right away? I think I read on here if you don't change it by 100k you should not change it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Just do a couple of drain & fills a few days apart. What if the previous owner DIY'd it or went to a shop that didn't make an entry in Carfax? Don't overthink it. Focus your energy on other common problem areas associated with early-year 3rd gens.

Try to get information on date of manufacturing and what tsb were applied. 2016 had a host of tranny software issues. If I were you would stay out of early 2016

    Carfax states 10/26/18 "Engine/power train computer/module reprogramme".

    Oh boy...

    Timing cover leak
    Coolant crossover pipe leak
    High pressure fuel pump leak
Steering rack seepage at the bellows
Rear diff oil leak between diff carrier and axle housing
Contaminated headliner from water leak at 3rd brake light
If it isn't a TRD OR, check maintenance records for vacuum pump replacement at ~120k miles. In later years (starting in either 2017 or 2018) it became a required maintenance item, but people often neglect it - involves unbolting the tranmission mount and tilting the engine forward for access.

There were 2-3 ECM firmware updates to improve the shift algorithm. The AC60 6-speed automatic is mechanically very durable, but early years saw many complaints of gear hunting on highways. That was the reason for the "computer reprogram".

I have a 2016, the only issue I had were the transmission cooling lines started to leak and needed to be replaced. I have changed all the fluids except the coolant but plan to do it this year. I have read others have had issues but on a model change year there are bound to be some glitches. Change all the fluids(brake, transmission, transfer and differential case oil)
I am also cleaning the MAF, throttle body, changing the pvc and plugs.

if it’s not been beaten it’ll be fine

    good luck

    That's some Scotty Kilmer horseshit.
    Total, utter, fallacy.
