Hi Team Tacoma World. I have a water leak at my windshield at the top of the windshield right where the drip channel meets the moulding.

Can I use butyl tape here? What is recommended, besides taking it to windshield shop?

We've never seen anything fix it, and the problems it causes usually cost more than the windshield.

What does this mean? Starting leaking when the drip moulding flew off this year. The driver side flew off years ago and no leak.

There's wiring and modules under the dash, and we see lots of issues with green death in connectors if left too long.

Oh gotcha. I have glass coverage on my insurance. I will make an appointment with them to see if they can replace the windshield and moulding. Fortunately, the truck is garaged. Just took it through a brushless car wash and saw some water.

Recommend removing the rubber molding, cleaning out the channels and the moldings, used 3M double sided tape to reinstall and hold down the moldings, and use good clear RTV at both the front and rear on reinstall. Clean out both spots thoroughly at both windows prior to reinstalling the moldings. I do this every year to my 2015 to insure no trash build up in these location. Hope this idea helps.

Can confirm. It happened to me after a shoddy windshield replacement job. Ended up chasing electrical gremlins around for weeks before I figured out what it was.
