Usually after I get back from an off roading trip I have to jack up the truck to wash out all the grit between the leaves and hammer a few back into line. I've checked my U bolts and they are torqued to 80 ft-lbs so I just accept that they regularly get out of alignment.

I put a set of rxt on with both optional leafs. Max lift. These are some noisy leafs. I have to oil them down to stop the squeaking. Im running icon shocks, uca, front coil overs. It rides ok but the squeaking will drive u nuts.....a can of kroil took care of the issue.

WD40 White lithium grease fixed mine.

I even took them off my totaled truck, reused them on my new truck and still no squeaks

I thought white lithium was a no go on plastics and bushings. Better for metal/metal surfaces.

glad it’s gone for someone ha, mine squeaks but radio still drowns it out

Typically your oil based lubes arent good for rubber and plastics. I dont see why white lithium would hurt anything :anonymous: i put it on there two winters ago and its been quiet as a church mouse ever since

I adjusted mine from stage 1 to stage 2 and cut up a bike tube and put between I believe the 2nd and 3rd leaf ends and that fixed my squeaks. I go offroad so much that I found any lube/grease I added attracted dirt and made it squeak.

want to get your guys thoughts about the weight and if you think I should upgrade to a custom leaf pack. My fiancé and I have an amazing opportunity next summer to take 6 months off of work and travel. We are planning to live in my truck basically full time for that 6 months and just travel the US.
Truck: Tacoma SR 4x4 V6 AC. (Weighs about 180lbs less than DC 4x4 LB which is how Icon advertises their packs)
Guesstimated weight in bed: around 800-900lbs constant
Current rear setup: icon rxt stage 2 (will upgrade to stage 3) with Bilstein 5125. Bump stops are OEM.
Front set up: Bilstein 5100 with OEM spring set at 1.1 inch lift. Durobumps bump stops.

do you guys think I will need to upgrade to a custom pack? I kinda plan to upgrade the shocks just for more comfort. I don’t need/plan to be rock crawling, I just want to be comfortable on and off road. Appreciate any responses and all opinions.

I would upgrade to something else, the stage 3 is for 600lbs constant. I'm over that by around 50-100lbs depending on circumstances and while its comfortable still, I lose most of the lift and I'm adding wear on them. I would honestly just go for a custom or Deaver stage 3 type set up since you are going to be living and using it for a good chunk of time. Then you don't have to stress over the amount you put in as much. I love my icons but adding weight adds up fast. You might consider sumo springs too.

    Or what @AR15xAR10 said

I did 1500lb sumo springs instead of air bags and when I have constant weight, its not bad at all:

So why would you recommend air bags and not sumo springs? Not a jab just a curiosity :boink::rofl:

Just a guess but this would be because of full time constant weight rather than intermediate trips where airbags aren't required full time. That way you can inflate and deflate as your load or environment changes

I did the same thing, bike tube between first and second leaf.
Any lube I put between them just attracts so much dust when off roading

If you want ride comfort for 6 months on the road go air bags.

if you want to be a hack like me and use sumo springs as extra overloads only when you’re towing or overloading the bed, then sumo springs may be the answer :anonymous:

Perfect reasoning. Air bags give ultimate control. Sumo springs are just a giant chunk of progressive rubber that gets stiffer the further down you push it. They are a little jolty and sharp for every day load carrying
