This is my little buddy Dash. I've had him since he was 10-12 weeks old. He was abandoned in a ditch in Houston. Somehow was relocated to Colorado by a cat rescue.

I wanted his brother too but he was already spoken for. The shelter called the person who adopted him (hadn't been picked up yet due to his neuter procedure) and said I had offered $300 for them to adopt another cat but they said no. I should have in hindsight adopted another cat that day to go home with us and I didn't.

I have tried since to bring two other cats home and it doesn't work. He just gets so angry with the other cats. So he's a loner for the rest of his life.

Anyways, he's 6 years old now but he's so stinking cute.

This was a few days after I brought him home. He learned about the water bottle real fast.

I think we picked Santo up when he was 12-ish weeks or so back last October. He HATES getting brushed, so he's been at the local "Grand Feline Hotel and Spa". He hams it up with the ladies there, but comes home looking SO handsome.

Yeah, our BOM (Big Orange Man) was upwards of 23lbs. When he sat on your chest in the am because he was hungry, you KNEW it!

    Orange kitties are the best

Here's Orange Cat Arthur chilling in the sun. He's almost back up to his ~14 lb. fighting weight after a big health scare at the beginning of the year. He had some kind of intestinal inflammation and lost 4 pounds in a couple of months. We got him sorted, but then relocated to PA in the spring. He's still not over that yet, and then we lost Gracie a few weeks ago. He hid upstairs and cried for two weeks after she passed. It was so sad, but we're slowly getting him back to normal as the last cat standing. We have decided not to bring any others in while he's still with us. We don't want to add another shock.

Anyway, he's been doing much better over the past week.

This is Princess Charlotte. She's a Maine Coon kitten. At the time of the quickly snapped photographs, she was about seven months old. She's sitting on a full size keyboard, and that's a 32 inch monitor, which had just gone dark. Several days after we got her home, we discovered that she's completely deaf. That does not stop her loud Maine Coop chirp, nor does it slow down her experiments with gravity.

Princess Charlotte brings us back up to five cats. (Our high was ten, inheriting five after a death in the family.) I will try to get a picture of all five together but, you know, herding cats.

Quite common for white cats to be deaf. But they can still live long productive lives.

The days following Louisa’s recent passing Amos was visibly upset. 2 different times he crapped on the rug just laying there and also pissed on the bed a few times. We were both really upset about Louisa and I think that added to Amos stress. We tried to just be upbeat and loved on him a lot and that really seemed to help- no more pee and crap except litter box. so that brings me to the next part of this story. We knew when the time was right we’d adopt another cat as we’ve always had 3. Since moving to a more rural part of north Idaho the option to adopt another Siamese from the rescue we’ve gotten them from before was quite a stretch. Then the other day coming home we see a sign saying Siamese kittens for sale. I was thinking to myself if this was meant to be? We’ve never bought a cat before other than adoption fees. Any rate I called to lady and takes to her and we went to see the kittens. Omg so darn cute and she had 1 girl left! So we decided to get her. Fortunately this lady just loves the breed and it isn’t a kitten factory and price was just a little more than the adoption fee we’ve paid before.
We haven’t brought her home yet but will be really soon and the hole in our hearts will again be filled. Introducing Lila to all the cat loving, Tacoma world friends and family.
