What is the best non-Toyota lower ball joint brand you can recommend for 2001 Tacoma.

Toyota's dealer prices are offensive in my area, and online prices are 5x cheaper at least.

It is a crucial safety part so I want to get the best possible affordable aftermarket replacement.

    Thanks

Buy once, cry once. Or at least dont cry again for a long time.

Just did them on my '95 at 139K. I'm certain the ones I removed were original to the truck. $132/per from online dealer.

First option will be OEM but Sankei 555 will be the next option

The OEM set I just installed will outlive me.

A grand for Total Chaos is kind steep, anyway.

I did Sankei 555's on my 2001 about a year ago. For the price difference, I'll buy these again in another year or so!

You did not mention which brand you bought. With "original" do you mean Toyota brand ?
OEM Toyota pair is over $450 here.

Redo them in a year !? Usually they last quite a long time, more like 200k miles max.
Mine lasted 250k before they had to be replaced.

You can get a recall kit that has both the left and right ball joints in them for about 250-300 shipped if I remember correctly. I believe the part number is 04005-03235 but don't quote me on that. You will also need to buy 8 black lower ball joint bolts with this kit as they don't come with them.

I was in your conundrum a few months ago between OEM and aftermarket, the best aftermarket are gonna be dang near close to the OEM in the recall kit.

    $132/per from online Toyota dealer.
    List price is $197/per

I will verify! I took the risk and ordered 04005-03235. They were the correct fit for my 1999 Tacoma. I had to reuse my castle nuts and my black LBJ bolts but they came with new cotter pins. Paid $184.93 from Ourisman Toyota before tax and shipping. Considerably cheaper than individual sides.
