If you're not verifying your shopping prices regardless of where you're buying from you're likely wasting money.

Smart. Their data services (AWS) are practically printing money and way more profitable than the retail side.

They purposely sell products at a loss to drive traffic to their website. They've been doing it for years. They aren't cheaper than the brick and mortar stores because they are smarter or more efficient. They're cheaper because they are intentionally selling stuff at a loss.

That is the tactic that drives a shit-ton of traffic through their website. When you've got millions of people a minute going to your platform the advertising dollars follow and the actual mark-up of your goods becomes less important. They bully smaller retailers because they want the internet traffic. They dont want you going to somebody else's site, they want you going to their site.

American consumers have been trained that when they think of something they need, they immediately go check Amazon first. Everybody has a phone in their pocket that makes it even easier to impulsively buy stuff. Literally as soon as something pops into your head, you pull out the phone, 2 button clicks and the product is getting dropped off on your doorstep 2 days later. It's not retail, it's mind control.

That's how they get control of the market and become the conduit that everything else has to go through.

Their drivers can't even figure out how to not block a residential drive way. I don't like walmart but I rather shop there in person than Amazon.

Do they have data centers? If they do I was thinking they consume so much energy the centers will make electricity more expensive and it will make the electric vehicle obsolete.

Are you joking around? 1/3 of the top 100,000 websites run from Amazon data centers. They have facilities in Northern Virginia, Oregon, Ohio, and California. Globally, they're in Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg, Japan, China, Singapore, Brazil, Australia and smaller solutions in other locations.

They're part of the reason electricity rates are high and if you're a climate change person you could point your finger in that direction. Nobody is going to stop using Amazon, maybe people could shut up about the climate at least.

Blame Congress, not the guy taking advantage of loopholes provided. Plus, he plays plenty in federal taxes. As far as state & local, who knows.

Amazon REVIEW system is absolutely GARBAGE and do not believe any of them. Their review system does not allow for fake reviews, made up reviews, validated purchases. We sell on Amazon. Literally there was a review on our listing for an item that was completely different. Like not even a car part. You can't get the Amazon bots to realize the review was for something completely different and get it removed. That is just one example of dozens.

Just an interesting fact. Did you know that Northern Virginia with the major data centers processes more than 70% of the worlds internet? There is a battle right now on power consumption and building more.

In keeping with the theme of this thread. I am weeming myself off Amazon, so I have bought zero as of today. I'm hoping to keep buying in person, but there are some convenience purchases on amazon for sure.
