    I have always liked the third gen tailgates how they say Tacoma, I have never thought of this. Cool idea, I may have to steal it :spy:

    I’m guessing from the look that this is mounted in a 3d printed bracket…. Is that custom or purchased? Looks real good and has me dreaming…

    The ol 8lb maul needed a new handle. Once we got that cured with a Fire Maul Tools Demolish handle, it only made sense to make a mount for it so I maintain overland credibility. Put together this lockable mount with combo padlock because I hate extra keys. The head of the maul is heavy enough that it sits pretty well balanced in the mount but I didn't feel right leaving the 36" handle unsecured. Grabbed a "door stop" bracket from home depot.(I dunno it was a 3/16" strip of galvanized flat bar with some bends in it that worked great). I put a rivnut in that bracket to anchor a quick fist.

    Came out super solid, secure, and not too fiddly to use.
