Well folks, I have been converted. After purchasing a new RV in February and using the Tacoma to pull it camping a few trips, I have come to the realization that it no longer meets my needs. I have loved being part of the Tacoma family for the last Decade, but it is time to move on. I traded my 2024 in on a 2025 1500 ZR-1 Trailboss with a 3.0-liter Duramax. Fuel mileage and pulling power being the main factors. Thank you to all who have been helpful and accommodating. Here is to the next chapter:cheers:

Congrats on your new one. That Duramax will double your towing capability, so right tool for the right job….Curious, how’d you do on trade value for the ‘24?

That's a nice looking truck. I've driven a few and love the torque and fuel mileage.

Well chosen, and well done on the graceful and tactful message also. We'll look forward to seeing you pass us uphill in the mountains with the camper in tow.

    Nice truck.

Be sure to keep up on the oil changes.
And be sure to use the correct oil. Not all is the same.
The 3.0 uses a wet belt. So oil type is critical.

With proper maintenance you should have great truck on your hands.
Really like the blue. GM has some good looking paint colors these days.

What year and what problems have you had with your ZR2? Colorado or Silverado?

18 Colorado… a lot of def/ emission problems. Fuel problems.. I probably put like 15k into the truck total in problems. A one it only has 40k on it

Congratulations on the new truck, I forget about the 3.0 Duramax as an option for the 1500 GM trucks I usually only look at the 1500 regular cabs and that only gets the 2.7t people say they make good power and get good milage.

Towing aside you should have kept the Toyota. I had to say it.

I'd like to see a Chevy 3500 Alaskan in that orange color GM offers in their midsize.

Diesel in my part of the world is always considerably more per gallon than gasoline. I wonder where the breakeven point is, considering a fill up costs so much more...

I'm retired, but I move vehicles around for a few dealerships. I've driven quite a few baby Max's. They are usually used 4x4 trucks with approx 20-30k miles. The route I travel is approx 120 miles, half level @ 60mph,half hilly @70mph. The diesel usually gets around 33 mpg U.S. My 2024 tacoma 4x4 Sport on the same trip gets 23mpg U.S.

I have been looking at one of those for the money u get so much more than a Tacoma in options . Tacoma is just getting out of hand in pricing . Only thing stoping me is the number of complaints on the Chevy . Wish you the best hope things work out well with the Chevy .

GM and diesel might be the better option as Ford has recalled several vehicles due to low pressure fuel pump failures.

    Ford:

    • 2021-2022 F-150, Mustang
    • 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD
    • 2022 Expedition
    Lincoln:

    • 2021-2022 Navigator
    • 2021-2023 Aviator

I almost went with the 25 trail boss Colorado. After being in tacomas for almost 20 years straight…. My son is a service writer for the Chevy dealership here in town he told me to ABSOLUTELY NOT buy one! Way too many issues. So I went with old faithful 25 Tacoma. But they are very nice trucks! Gas motor was what I was looking at. Not the diesel. Hope you have many trouble free miles out of yours my friend. Very nice truck. Congrats.

Had 2 6.6 Duramax diesels a '17 and a '21, both had particulate filter issues towing, I hope you don't have to deal with those they're a major PIA.
