    OP, telling you that you need more practice might sound condescending. My point is that it is likely the best bang for the buck.

    Regearing is expensive and has potential drawbacks. 5.29’s will change the overall gear ratio by 1.23. 4lo for comparison changes the gear ratio by 2.57. The drawback to regearing is that it is not selectable like 4lo and will thus will increase your highway rpm. That may or not bother you.

    I will continue to be skeptical about tunes until I see objective evidence that it makes significant improvements below 3k rpm.

    Another option is the magason super charger, but again I have not seen a dyno curve that goes below 3k rpm. It seems more promising than tune though.

    One last thought… are you saying that you are having trouble in off-road situations in 4lo? Or are you trying to use 4hi in those situations? The first I do before I hit a trail is put it in 4lo.
