To what connection/harness/wire would you connect the WHITE low beam wire to on a 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro? I believe that would allow the DRL white lighting to dim when the low beam lights are on.

Website information indicates that bumper removal is required for these fang lights. No video on the site yet. I know that replacement of the OEM on the lower bumper fog-lights requires the bumper to be removed but there are a number of install videos for similar Tacoma fang lights and none required bumper removal. One other question not addressed on those install videos …. Can the fang lights be turned off independent of other lighting operation? Maybe an aux switch? I would definitely want a pro install as wiring can confuse me!

You certainly can use an AUX switch to give them power, but my choice is to make them work along with other DRL lighting. As far as taking off the bumper, that does make the install easier as far as access is concerned, but my 24 yr old son who has a little smaller hands than I do, was able to do the install the other day without removing anything except some lining in the wheel wells and the front engine covers over the radiator and the air intake which are simple to pop out with push pins. He did it all with some reaching from top down and bottom up as needed. I have seen videos of others who have done the same, and videos where the front bumper assembly was removed.

I may know later tonight about the WHITE fang light wire that is used on many of the lights, but not all fang light brands/models have a WHITE wire. It is used to dim the DRL on the white fang lights when the low beams are powered on. If you don't connect both wires properly, then you can use either RED or WHITE on the fang lights for power from the 3 pin harness which would give you high or low brightness always when the DRL is on. I want the dim feature which is how all other factory DRL's work.

I will be testing the 6 pin WHITE connector on the headlamp assembly to see which wire powers up the low beams.

@JimScotty I will be interested to hear your results. My concern is partly what you are addressing. In videos, these lights appear too bright with the main headlights running. I would definitely like to be able to turn them off or as you suggest dim them when the main headlights are on.

This was the video I was referencing.

Many of the brands, like the one above from TrumGeta, have that ability. You just need the correct wiring. I will post as soon as I figure it out, but my wiring might be different since I have a 2024 Pro which has a different headlamp assembly than most other models. You just need to find the wire powering the low beams.

This is not in any manner a fog light. Misleading.

Not even close to a fog light. Nice try. Actually makes a shop look worse when they are not the most knowledgeable around on a part they are re-branding and selling.

Nope not a fog light. Fang lights also look like Hyundai and Kia style lighting.

I will be installing mine this weekend and post a video. The turn signal connection is straightforward on each side. For the running lights, I'm going to connect them to Aux 3. My Tacoma has Aux 1, Aux 2 and, Aux 3 buttons. The lights also should be connected to the Low beam wire so that they can dim at night. My original thinking was that I should tap into the driver's side marker. The side markers go live when turning on the running light. The downside is that if I am only using the running lights, the daytime running lights will dim. In that case, I should tap on the wire powering the low beams.

    2024 Tacoma TRD Pro
I just installed my Tacoma Lifestyle Fang Lights which have the smoked lens on my 2024 TRD Pro. What they are selling appears to be the exact same or very similar model as others are selling. It has only horizontal LEDs. I played around with all sorts of combinations to get the dimming to work correctly when the low beams are on. I did find and tap the dark BLUE wire on the white 6 pin connector where I found the low beam power wire and tested a few combinations using that. I ended up just using the 3 pin signal connector for the RED (Power), BLACK (ground), and YELLOW (signals) using the Aspire jumper harness which made it clean and easy. I tried connecting the WHITE Fang wire to the low beam power wire I found, but the results were not what I wanted and seemed a bit wonky in various modes.

With this final connection setup my Fang lights DRL are bright white and work together with the OEM DRL's on the truck. They do the power on lighting dance, but never dim. I could not find a way to automatically make that happen. It may be a TRD Pro thing since the headlamps are different doing a very nice sequentual signal lighting. I wound up wiring the Fang WHITE wire to one of my extra switch ports on my AuxBeam switch. When I power on the AuxBeam switch, the Fang lights dimm. It isn't an automatic process as I had hoped would work as described in the various product statements, but it does dimm in this manual switch manner whenever I choose to have the white Fang lighting not as bright.

I also tried switching the RED and WHITE Fang wires, and that did provide a dim always setup, but no power on light dance which is pretty cool. The amber sequential signals work great in all possibilities I tested.

In addition to the Fang lights I just installed, I also put in AuxBeam Pod Ditch lighting with Amber DRL and Turn Signals, 4 Amber Grill DRL lights, and an Amber Hood Scoop DRL insert behind the small scoop grill. They all work together with the factory lighting control on the steering column lighting arm. The Hood Scoop DRL has 2 brightness settings where I used the lower setting for DRL and have the higher power setting controlled by an AuxBeam switch port when desired. Both are Amber.

Yesterday my son and I got the SPV Rigid rear bumper light kit installed and configured it for the RED DRL halo, automatic reverse lighting, and manual WHITE light using my AUX 3 (5 Amp) switch. Using the OEM factory engine jumper it would have provided AUX 1 (15 Amp). I didn't want to waste a 15 Amp AUX switch for lighting that needed just a couple of amps so I repinned the OEM engine jumper to use the AUX 3 (5 Amp) WHITE wire, instead of the factory BLACK (15 Amp) wire. It all worked out great and we love the look and functionality. I now still have AUX 1 (15 Amps), and AUX 2 (10 Amps) available for future use from the front of the truck, but not in the rear since the 2024 only has 1 wire ran to the rear bumper AUX connector which is now consumed for my 2 Rigid lights. The 2025 with AUX switches has 2 wires running from the engine compartment to the rear. We did use a factory ground where an OEM wire already connected so we knew it was a good ground for the kit. That ground bolt and wire are located behind the driver side rear recovery hook.

With all that wiring, I wasn't done until I installed my MidLand MXT115 GMRS radio and Mini External Speaker on my Cali Raised Dash Mount having done some custom drilling for the speaker bracket. I ran direct power via tap-a-fuse and ran the antenna wire to a MidLand MXTA26 whip antenna mounted outside my passenger ditch light bracket. I custom cut all the wiring to fit, and re-pinned the wires so I wouldn't have large wiring bundles on or under the dash. Came out great and also used very nice quality TackForm and Bulletpoint arm hardware to hold the mike and a phone for my OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner realtime apps, and the other for the wife's phone. It all just sits a couple of inches above my 14" console display.

Soon I will post some photos. Still adding a few more decorative accents, waiting for my SXTH bedstep adapter, and researching the best good looking custom fit mud flaps for my Pro that provide good coverage and flexability when hitting the trails.
