The standard kit doesn't since the light isn't much brighter than factory. The kit mostly just doubles the surface area of the brake lights.

Part of the reason why most of us in here are recommending it.

Stock LEDs up front and Stock tails with the standard VLEDs kit.

    I second that recommendation.

I would just add a suggestion of changing out the driving lights (fogs) to LEDs also to better match the color temperature of the LED headlights. That is if you aren't running true fogs.

Coming soon: Compact powered sub install Future mods planned: bigger tires (265/75/16) BILLSTIEN 5100 lift
This is the kit I bought some years ago. Its very similar to the VLED base kit, even some of the bulbs were in VLED packages.
Its not blindingly brighter but a bit brighter and as said more brake like area as you can see in the pics on MESO's site https://mesocustoms.com/collections...stage-1-3rd-gen-tacoma?variant=20733357162609
It just makes the brake lights more noticeable with more area and gets you amber turns which I think are easier for people to notice.

One thing I do like about the VLED kit is the resistors are included, They were not with the MESO kit but available to order seprate. When I did mine only the signal for one side hyper flashed. I didn't order the resistors taking the chance I'd not need them. Then MESO Customs didn't have them in stock. I had to buy from Tacoma Beast, the only place they were in stock I found. Tacoma Beast is not a vender I prefer to support for reasons you can look up if you want to know. Overall it would have been better to have the resistors and be able to test with out and install if needed whilst I had the taillights and wiring open than revisit it a weeek later to get it 100%.

I run the standard VLEDs with their resistors in a set of 2018 Pro taillights and are a lot brighter than stock. Been on them for a few years now and super happy with them.
