I have removed my seats a few times (access cab) to sound deaden, run electrical, detail, and install aftermarket accessories and I have never re calibrated anything. I drive around with one seat in sometimes and then I get a light but it goes away as soon as I plug the harness in. Have I been putting my wife at risk this whole time?

I just pulled the passenger seat out of my 21 to shampoo the carpet, drove it around for a day without the seat in, and have had no issues with the SRS system since.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I removed both the driver and passenger seats without disconnecting the battery. No visible issues other than when I put seats back in and hooked them back up seatbelt and airbag lights are both on. How do I recalibrate or did I mess something up more than I think

Disconnect the battery and let it sit for a while then hook it back up and see if it fixes it. Kinda the standard unplug it and see, just ike everything else

Air bag self clears if the issue is resolved, I have removed many toyota seats without issues. You may need to recheck all your connections.

It's possible you need a zero point calibration for the passenger seat but that requires a scanner.
