    Welcome to TW

Looks like an oil seal... Was the truck recently worked on?

Need something to reference size. Might be an oil filter gasket. :notsure:

Went to the dealer a couple months ago for oil change, oil check, tire rotation and a couple other things. The size of the ring is approximately 1.5 - 2 inches

Yeah check your oil filler cap.
There's been a number of reports of caps going missing, it was recently speculated it happens because the seal gets lost and the cap vibrates loose.

Yes, I agree. This is a possibility of how the oil fill caps are being lost. Gasket/O-ring falls off and the cap does not mate with the housing well.

Do you think the dealers cares? I doubt it.

Probably not, but I like harassing them. Perhaps the OP has a dealer that doesn’t mind learning a few things; yeah I know it is unlikely.

Some "dealers" do care. Go to dealer you had work done. Ask politely then only talk to service manager or general manager. My wife's car (honda) is serviced at a dealer that we have gotten to know the service manager. He actually cares and tries. She had a problem with batteries constantly failing and resulting no starts. He replaced ecm at no cost and out of warranty. Problem fixed.
