Operation garage organization continued ft. Independence day shenanigans..

Thinking about building a smaller "layout" table since a 4'x8' one is out of the question. Thinking 3.5' x 5'.

Trying to see if it would be possible to just add it to the setup now. It's doable but too tight in my opinion.

Matched the old laundry room cabinet door pulls to the new cabinets. Not sure why I didn't do this sooner.

    Done and made a mess.

These clamps are good for when you're painting something and need to hang the item up out of the way to dry. I swapped out the quick coat hanger hook for something more substantial.

Independence day in no particular order..

Took a trip to Home Depot yesterday and picked up some of these DeWalt organizers. So, used the rainy season afternoon showers to take a few hours and reorganize the organizers.. probably going to pick up some more of the DeWalt ones and maybe another stalwart or two. Not a fan of the bulky husky ones anymore. They're good for how I have them organized now but might do away with them all together eventually.

My 1/4" drive 1/8" deep and shallow sockets arrived in the mail on Saturday. Craftsman doesn't make one but SK tools does.

    IMG_3294.jpg IMG_3295.jpg

Threw up a hook in the back corner of the garage to hold my push broom and harbor freight work stands. Gotta get a shed for this stuff but happy they're up and out of the way for now.

Thinking of moving the 72 to where the current workbench is. The pegboards (currently completely empty) would get removed and I would build shelves for the DeWalt organizers (get more) and Stalwart organizers (get more). If room allows, chop down the current workbench, replacing the top for a butcher block style top, rework the bench vise setup for something better.

Then, where the 72 is now, I would build and place the 3.5' x 5' (might go with 4'x6') layout table with a different top for projects, more space for things like lawnmower maintenance, woodworking projects etc. Basically any task that is currently being done on the ground will be able to be done on this table (within reason).

I need to swap the 72 and current workbench and see how much room I would have left for possibly a smaller work table next to the 72.

Been a bit busy since swapping the toolbox and current workbench.

Picked up about 15 more sockets from Tekton and Lowe's (Craftsman). Didn't realize how many sockets Craftsman does not make.

I have about 35 sockets left to go to fill the rails that I have. I think there will be some bigger purchases from Tekton. Lowe's has some stuff but most of the ones remaining that I need are only 12 points. I would like all 6 point sockets to complete the set. It's also pretty annoying spending so much time digging through all the mixed up sockets for them to not have what I need.

I picked up another DeWalt organizer on Friday and I have another stalwart organizer coming from Amazon. I labeled them all, too:

Going to building an wooden shelf to hold both style of organizer, but they are different in size. DeWalt one is wider. Just want to keep them all in one spot and not take up too much workbench space on top of the toolbox.

Started labeling the toolbox drawers for the ones that I am fairly certain are permanent (for now):

    IMG_3329.jpg

Labeled the top 2 drawer edges with metric and SAE so that someone other than me knows which side has what units of measure.

Got some crowfoot wrench sets and organizers for those coming.

Ordered and received this mount for my M18 blower since the plastic part where you are supposed to hang it up from is blown out:

    Golf cart:

Had a weird thing happen Thursday night cruising the neighborhood where the cart just stopped. Didn't lose power but could not move forward or backwards. Got it back working and back home, opened the Navitas app and there was a throttle error. Luckily I had a ITS sensor hoarded away from pre-lithium swap, got it swapped out, error in the app went away and the cart works again. Ordered another one to have around and the throttle micro switch in case, too.

No longer need these big furniture dollies and I wanted something like the car dollies for the golf cart when I need to maneuver it in tight spaces. I need more wheels but I think I'm going to get 2 locking casters for each dolly in case I need it to not move once I have it where I want it in the garage. Got one done as a proof of concept:

Going to be reaching out to a few local electricians to get a quote for 220 this week.
