So I figured I would ask this in a new thread… I started the other one that I will stick to using for q’s “( finally found a first gen)”…
    So here goes:
I believe my new gen1 is a 2003, as it was manufactured in November or 2002. ( I can’t make out the year on the ownership)…also, the ownership just says Toyota Tacoma. so, is it a pre runner? Trd? Sr5? It is a 5 speed with 4 wheel drive, has air conditioning, extended cab.
there are no badges on tailgate.

Thanks for the link top dog, but no joy… I put the VIN in and it just spins and spins… doesn’t seem to work.

Try again later server might be down. Your truck was built in CA so it should pull it up.

From what I’m reading it’s a base model Deluxe Trim. But i’m really not sure about that you may have to wait for Toyota.com to pull it up.

Good news it is a 2003.

I’ve never heard the term “ deluxe trim” for a tacoma. ?
“Limited” yes,… but I am new to the world of 1st gens.

This don’t help much but it’s what google says,

2003, the Toyota Tacoma did have a "Deluxe" trim level, often referred to as "DLX". It was available in both Regular Cab and Extra Cab configurations, and could be had with either a 2.4L 4-cylinder or a 3.4L 6-cylinder engine, as well as with 2WD or 4WD. Some models also included a Double Cab option.

Those steel wheels (if original) make it a lower trim

    Nicer trims got aluminum alloys

It's just a Tacoma Xtra cab 4WD. No trim level. So base model.

Built in 11/02 according to date printed on top right of decal. Since model changes typically occur in the fall of the year, this makes it a 2003.

It's a 4WD so is Not a prerunner. Prerunner is 2WD version with suspension similar to 4WD.
If it has TRD stickers on the side, and/or a differential lock button on the dash left of steering wheel then it is TRD. If it lacks these things it is not TRD.
I don't think Toyota even knew what SR5 signified in first gens...
    Enjoy your truck --
