Definitely go to the dealer, but that code around here has a 100% track record of coming back more frequently in time and it so far has always been a burnt valve requiring a new cylinder head and valves on the affected cylinder.

 

Wow , sorry to hear this is still happening on the later production trucks , I almost traded in my 2018 sr5 on a 2022 because of seeing the people posting about the valve issues on the 17-19 models and while it is not a real common issue , I get ocd about this stuff , anyway I ended up keeping my 18 and knock on wood still no issues , but kinda glad I didn’t trade it , I’d still be in the same boat with a higher car payment . Thank goodness your still under warranty , whatever they find .

 

What is the possibility of a relay or fuse causing this issue? I only ask because I have not lost any gas mileage nor feel any loss in power.

 

Very unlikely. That code throws when it detects an air fuel ratio imbalance in a cylinder. Like I said, that code has been posted here many times and every single one of them has been a physical valve/valve guide failure that needs a new cylinder head and replacement valve.

All they need to do is a compression and leak down test on cylinder 1 and they’ll see if you have a valve problem or not. They being the dealer.

For whatever it’s worth, most with the code also don’t feel any loss of power. The issue presents itself at idle more often than running.

 

My question now is, will it return after repair?

 

If your replacement valve seals properly to the new cylinder head and the valve guide keeps it running good and true, then it should not return, no.
