Has anyone seen this before? Top hat stud on brand new bilstein 8112 DSA+ sheared off after torquing to 33ft/lbs and driving for approx 60 miles. Is this fixable or is this potentially a warranty claim ? Real big pain in the ass either way as this is my daily driver and I’m pretty sure the top hat is a part of the strut and not a seperate piece. Any advice is appreciated.

It's fixable, you can drive a new stud through...but I would warranty the coilover. 8112s are not cheap.

Well, shit. I installed 8112s not too long ago. I better check mine to make sure they’re ok.

I would certainly reach out to Bilstein regarding that one.

Makes minimal sense as there should be very minimal load on the head of the stud, mostly torsion on the knurls in the hat itself.
