Lots of talk about mowing grass. I fixed all that by hiring it done. Easier on my back and cheaper in the long run. Hint... find one that can/will clean your driveway in the winter. They're usually glad to have winter work.

We have a fuel oil supplier fairly close by down route 2/4 a ways. Take 2 5gal jugs when they are empty. Cost earlier this year was around $3.80 a gallon. Going to get gas is always a good excuse to take the wife out to lunch.

Good morning. House is going to be power washed today. Cooking up a rack of pork ribs for dinner.

Yesterday was king of laid back. Bought a bag of Bear Mountain pellets to try them out. Cooked up some chicken thighs for dinner.

I do ride, but after years of cycling all over the world, I started developing severe carpal tunnel in both hands back in 1990, so I have needed to be careful not to overdo it. As I've posted about over the last month or so, I recently acquired a 1959 Hercules bicycle with a Sturmey-Archer 3-speed hub which has a riding position which does not aggravate my carpal tunnel issues, but given how hilly it is around where we live in Maryland, it can be a bit challenging going up some of the hills.

Even with riding, it doesn't get my heart rate up like running used to, that and to get any sort of a decent workout in, it takes a good two hours, whereas a 45 minute run is all I needed to get well and truly thrashed.

I agree, bicycles are so efficient that riding can even give less of a workout than walking can on flat ground.

I raced roads and Crits back in the day and rode with our local club for a few years. I found with out a heart rate monitor during workouts it was easy to get lazy and not get my heart rate into my target zone. Timing my workouts and of course training rides with other racers meant I needed no heart rate monitor, every climb was a race to the top.
