Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
My top case is a 43L and will easily hold my helmet and jacket...even with the liner in it...and my overpants when it's cool. You can get them down to like 32L, but having the extra room has been a plus more than a few times.

I have two 33L cases that double as a single top case, and I sure would like a top case that could hold a helmet. 260$ for something I don't REALLY need but I do want it.

Wore this for the first time yesterday and it was comfortable, fit just about perfect (I'm 5'11", semi-athletic 205-ish and ordered XL), and flowed air like it's supposed to...

ya that is true. ill have to look into it for her little bike atm she is happy with her milk crate haha
ahh interesting ill save it and show it to her and see what she thinks thanks!

if we have to we can always swap out the top rack from the xr to an aftermarket one.
this is what hers looks like. we wont need anything to large since this bike is not a distance bike haha but something she can put a jacket in and a lunchbox in when going to work and going home when its crazy hot! her helmet she takes into work and sets it at her desk.

anyone have recommendations on pitbike shocks? i want something with rebound and compression control. my current shock doesnt seem to keep up with the hub motor and i get what feels like tire skipping on bumps.

Saw a FB post a few days ago in a FJR group I follow from an owner in PA about one hour from me. He'd recently bought a 2015 FJR and it has the Yamaha touring windscreen on it and he doesn't like it so he was looking to trade straight up for a stock screen. I happen to have 2 stock screens so I cleaned one up really well and I'm meeting him Thursday to swap screens. The touring screen will be nice for colder weather riding and I think that's why the current owner doesn't like it as it's a little warm here currently.

According to Yamaha website it's 4 inches taller and 1/2 inch wider. I've already got aftermarket screens on both FJRs. One has a Cee Bailey screen that's about 2 inches taller than stock and just a touch wider. Othe bike has an Aeroflow screen that's roughly the same height but has a reverse lip in the top couple of inches making it act like it's taller. Both of those companies are no longer making screens. I had a Cal Sci screen for my 2007 that was awesome and that company is no longer around either.

I put the freshly cleaned stock screen on last night and rode that bike to work today. Stock screen is okay but in the lowest position it's a little too short and I get a LOT of wind noise. I can run it up higher, which is what I did, but that has it's own issues. I definitely prefer the aftermarket windscreens but I am anxious to try the touring screen for colder weather use.

Windscreens are a tough decision IMO. Everybody is different, heights, weights, torso length versus leg length, etc. Calsci has a really nice section on picking the correct windshield height. I'm putting the link here for you. I found it's worked really well for me.

haha ya i figured! there is no one size fits all! i was reading on the puig large screen and some people hated it and some people loved it and it varied on height and weights so no middle ground lol

That rack shouldn't be a problem at all.

Found this on Reddit. Smaller Givi case seems to fit reasonably well without being HUGE on that little bike.

I think it's this one, and it says it comes with the universal mounting plate.

Wish it was more square, the round design looks kinda funny compared to the rest of the bike.

Found some knock off top boxes on Amazon for roughly $120 in aluminum or black finish that also had external tie down points. Would work well on a bike like that giving her lockable, waterproof storage with the ability to strap stuff on the outside if needed.

They have this one, too. Just slightly larger, and definitely MORE square. The one above was just the only one I could find a pic of it mounted on the XR.
